AI & Workforce Disclaimer
The ITC Workforce HR Assistant is designed to help businesses organize information, draft materials, understand routine HR processes and prepare for workforce conversations. It provides information, administrative assistance and decision support. It is not an automated employment decision-maker and it is not legal advice.
1. AI output can be wrong
Generative AI produces probabilistic responses. Outputs can be incomplete, outdated, inconsistent, overly general or incorrect, including when they sound confident. Laws, regulations, collective agreements, workplace policies and facts differ by jurisdiction and change over time.
2. Do not use the Assistant as the sole basis for an employment decision
An authorized human should review the relevant facts, records, workplace policies and applicable requirements before taking action. ITC Workforce should not be used as the sole basis for hiring, discipline, termination, compensation, promotion, accommodation, leave, workplace investigations or other decisions that materially affect a person.
3. Higher-risk matters should be escalated
Professional review is especially important for termination, serious discipline, disability or accommodation, human-rights issues, harassment or discrimination, workplace investigations, health and safety, workers’ compensation, privacy incidents, wage and overtime disputes, protected leaves, immigration matters, union or collective-agreement issues, litigation threats and other sensitive or high-impact situations.
4. HR information is not legal advice
ITC Workforce may explain common HR concepts, help structure a conversation, provide checklists or draft documents. That information is general and administrative in nature. It does not create a lawyer-client relationship and should not be treated as a legal opinion about a specific situation.
5. Human support also has defined limits
If your plan includes access to human HR support, that support is intended to help with practical HR administration and decision support. It is not legal representation unless a separate written engagement specifically provides legal services through a qualified professional.
6. Protect sensitive information
Only enter information that is reasonably necessary for the task. Avoid unnecessary medical details, government identifiers, banking information, highly sensitive allegations or other personal information when a generalized or redacted description would be sufficient. Customer organizations remain responsible for their authority to use employee information in the system.
7. Employee-facing features
Where an employer enables employee-facing assistant or self-service features, the employer controls that workplace implementation. The Assistant is not a confidential legal, medical, counselling or whistleblower channel and should not replace an employer’s required reporting, complaint, accommodation, safety or emergency processes.
8. Emergency or immediate-risk situations
ITC Workforce is not an emergency service. If there is an immediate threat to health or safety, contact the appropriate emergency service, workplace safety authority or qualified professional rather than relying on the platform.
9. Customer responsibility
The customer remains responsible for verifying information, applying the correct law and policy, maintaining fair processes, documenting decisions appropriately and obtaining professional advice when needed.
